News came in from all over the mobile and smartphone world this week. From delays to announcements, we covered it all right here on PhoneMag.

For starters, we saw the Meizu M8 OS in action, which gave us a bird’s eye view of the UI and all it has to offer. And then, out of the blue, a bunch of information leaked about the Sprint XOHM WiMAX network. Funnily enough, the info was on a website that was meant to be hidden but some crafty netizens found it.
A handy little flip phone from AT&T will be available soon called the Samsung SGH-a237 . But we also caught sight of the AT&T USBConnect Mercury, an HSPA modem that can supposedly reach download speeds of up to 1.7Mbps. The Panel Interface for the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1 SDK was also released this week, and a video showed what it was capable of, namely making the Windows Mobile experience a bit more user-friendly.

The Nokia N96 was unboxed this week, and the video was in a park for a rather serene setting. And quite surprisingly, the Wallstreet Journal released their review of the HTC Touch Diamond rather early, letting us in on the fact that while the phone’s animations and interface is quite nice, it simple doesn’t do enough to cover up WM6’s flaws.
In FCC news, it looks as though the U.S. will be getting a CDMA and 3G version of the Samsung OMNIA in the near future as models similar to the i900 (the i907 and i910) are currently moving through the FCC. The BlackBerry storm was also delayed and now launch is expected in mid-November. On a more positive note, however, Sprint HTC Touch Diamond info has leaked and we got our hands on the release date (September 14) and pricing ($249.99). Finally, if you are an AT&T or Verizon Wireless subscriber, you will be pleased to know that MediaFLO will be carrying all of the 2008 season college football games.
