So much happened this week that we better get right down to it. With CTIA Wireless and an onslaught of HTC and BlackBerry news, PhoneMag was buzzing with info.

For starters, we found out that AT&T came in last when it comes to call quality by JD Power & Associates. Plus, the carrier’s MEdia Net portal will soon be utilizing Yahoo! oneSearch for all of user’s search engine requests. Sony Ericsson announced the launch dates for the XPERIA X1, which has been a long time coming, and will make its debut on September 30.

T-Mobile also fired up their 3G network in Philadelphia, just the first of many launches and they officially got the BlackBerry Pearl 8220 Flip phone, which combines the phone standard of a flip and the added functionality of a smartphone. We even got a hands on experience with the Pearl Flip. However, a load of other BlackBerry news came our way as well. For instance, The BlackBerry Curve 8350i was confirmed from Sprint for later this year. Plus, the BlackBerry Storm was revealed in a video, and its “button” touchscreen was demoed, then an internal Verizon email revealed that a “Storm” was coming on September 15th, pointing to the launch of the device’s website.

HTC had a lot of info come out this week as well with an unlocked Touch Diamond coming to Best Buy, the availability of the Touch Pro and Diamond from Sprint and a rumor about the HTC Opal and how it is a follow up to the original Touch. However, the most exciting bit of news from the company was a look at the HTC Touch HD, which has a WVGA display and looks super sweet.

CTIA was bustling this week as well. The Motorola ROKR phones were on display at the show, along with the Nokia N79 and N85. However, we got hands on interaction with several devices including the Samsung Highnote from Sprint, the LG Lotus and the Velocity Mobile 103, which will be launching this month in the UK. We also learned that Virgin Mobile will be keeping original Helio plans and releasing the Ocean 2 sometime in 2009.
