This week on PhoneMag was a non-stop news fest. With tons of info trickling in on HTC phones, BlackBerrys and the Mobilize event, we have no time to waste, so let’s jump in on the recap.

The week started with word of the HTC Touch HD, which caught many by surprise. This slick device suddenly popped onto the scene with photos and pricing details, intriguing us with its large touchscreen and features. We also learned that the HTC Opal is actually going to be called the Touch Viva. The HTC Touch 3G also went to the FCC this week, and it will actually be a higher-end version of the Viva.

Sprint released the HTC Touch Diamond this week giving many their first hands-on experience with the device. We also heard a rumor that the HTC Touch Diamond would be getting a snow white color option, but it turns out it will be called Ice White.

The T-Mobile G1 got priced this week, as well and now that we’re on the brink of the first Android phone launch, T-Mobile is rolling out their 3G network all over the country. A few new photos of the G1 were snapped, too, catching the device in the wild just a few days before the device’s launch. Android Community will be Live Blogging the event on Tuesday at 10:30 EDT, so be sure to check that out.

BlackBerry was also all over PhoneMag in the past few days. For starters, the BlackBerry Storm dominated our coverage as photos leaked of the upcoming device and the page for the Storm popped up on the Verizon website. Pre-launch information was also leaked for the smartphone, which let us in on when and how Verizon would be promoting the phone. Promotion for the BlackBerry Storm also began, however nothing new was revealed about the device.

PhoneMag was also at Mobilize this week, and we got an exclusive video from the next-gen mobile web conference. WiMax and LTE were also frequently brought up at the event and we got a look at several data applications and caught it all on video. A User Experience Panel was discussed.

C-Motech was at CTIA Wireless this week and showed off their dual-mode WiMax EVDO USB dongle, which is the first of its kind in the U.S.

The Samsung BEAT edition cellphones were announced this week and we learned that Verizon Wireless might be implementing a contract-free offering of their services. Lastly, Google Maps Street View became available for mobile devices.
