The blog was buzzing this week with a ton of news coming in from all ends of the spectrum. From the BlackBerry to our review of PhoneTag, we covered a lot this week, so let’s get right to it.

For starters, we learned that the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic phone was going to be delayed until after the holiday season in the U.S., however, we did get an in depth look at the device with a very detailed review.

Many we’ll be glad to hear the Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 was approved by the FCC this week and the LG Renoir officially launched this week as well. Plus, we found out that HSPA and LTE would be coming to Telus and Bell by the year 2010. One a related note, we also got a look at the launch of the Sprint XOHM WiMAX, and even learned pricing.

However, there was some disappointing phone news this week. For instance, the HTC Touch HD, which looked to be downright awesome, will not be coming to the U.S. Plus, the BlackBerry Bold was actually dropped from Orange due to issues with the device’s quality. Yikes!

However, the majority of the blog this week was devoted to BlackBerry-related news. The BlackBerry Storm was officially announced from Verizon and Vodafone. Then we learned that with certain Vodafone contracts, customers would get the device free. Plus, the touchscreen will utilize ClearPad from Synaptics. TELUS is also set to get the BlackBerry Storm. On a related note, we also got a hands on look at the BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8220.

Lastly, we were able to review PhoneTag Voicemail this week. The service makes transcriptions of your voicemails for easy retrieval later. All in all, we liked the service and felt it to be extremely convenient and was an easy replacement for Visual Voicemail on the iPhone.
