PhoneMag Week in Review – Week 48 2008

We here at PhoneMag hope you had a nice holiday weekend. But the phone news never stops! In fact, this past week we found out that AT&T will be the next carrier to get the Nokia E71. And LG announced the LG Prada II, which comes with an equally stylish watch.

In BlackBerry-related news, we got a look at some live shots of the BlackBerry 8530i with Nextel branding. We also heard about a rumor that Rogers would be releasing a pink version of the BlackBerry Bold. A Best Buy ad also revealed that you could get a free BlackBerry Pearl Flip when you activated your device in-store.

The Motorola Aura is a rather expensive phone, but now you can apparently get a super cheap knockoff in China that looks “just” like it. Same goes for an incredibly strange knock off iPhone that flips.

Motorola announced the Moto VE66, in official news this week. Plus, we got a sneak peek at the Motorola Alexander and Attila, which are two brand new smartphones.

Two devices made their way through the FCC this week as well. The Porsche P9522 got the go ahead as did the Pantech Duo 2. The Nokia 5800 XpressMusic phone began to ship this week, giving consumers yet another smartphone option. Plus, Scalado announced they were improving camera phones with the Scalado Camera Solution that offers zero shutter lag and other benefits.
