One of the things that was most appealing to me about the Palm Pre was the Touchstone charger that didn’t need any wires to charge. I picked up the WildCharge system for my iPhone shortly after it launched and have been using it ever since to charge the device sans wires. If you want something a bit more portable than the WildCharge system, Powermat has officially launched its Portable Mat charger.

The device is a folding charge pad that allows the user to charge up to three devices at once, assuming that the devices are equipped with the correct Receiver. The system sells for $99.99 and comes with a Powercube Universal receiver that has eight tips.
Tips for the iPhone, Blackberry, and Sony handsets are not included. The Receivers for specific devices range in price from $29.99 to $39.99. The Portable Mat is available to purchase now.

Strange – the Wildcharge pad is smaller than the “portable” power mat, powers 5 (not 3) devices at the same time and costs only $40-$50 street. It does lackthe pretty nylon magnetic snap-shut baggie to carry it in – but hey – I want LESS stuff in my travle bag, not more…
Can’t wait to see it in stores. I thought the release was scheduled for late fall, but sounds like we have an early Christmas self gift! It is bit pricey though. I need to buy those charging receivers separately I think
BTW, here is a more detailed article on this device:
