Several governmental bodies have recommended that people who use cell phones take precautions, as the link between the mobile phones and brain tumors is unclear. A Senate Appropriations subcommittee held a hearing on Monday to look at the link between tumors and cell phone user.

The only thing that is clear right now is that there is no strong link between phones and tumors of the brain. The problem according to some who are studying the link between tumors and cell phones is that cell phones have been in widespread use for a relatively short time.

If mobile phones are causing tumors, some believe there hasn’t been enough time for the tumors to start to develop. Researchers point to the fact that it took as long as 40 years for the first brain tumors to develop in people who were in Nagasaki during WWII when we dropped the first Atomic bomb. I can only image the massive lawsuits that will spring up in ten years we find that mobile phones can cause cancer. Some recommend precautions such as only using the mobile phone in areas with strong signals.
