Qwest and Verizon have reached a deal for Verizon to provide virtual network services for Qwest. The deal replaces Sprint as the provider, it was not stated why Qwest decided to drop them. The deal is a five year contract. In this way, it seems there will be no more carrier swinging for Qwest. It is not mentioned when the this new deal will go into effect.

Qwest subscribers will have access to all of Verizon’s best. The full line of smart phones, including BlackBerries, will be made available for Qwest. It does not stop there either. Verizon will be allowing Qwest to access their EV-DO network as well. It is assumed this will include Rev. A access, as Verizon’s data cards will be used by Qwest as well.

The deal will also allow Qwest customers to bundle Verizon residential broadband as well. If you opt for a Verizon branded phone, you may also use that, and still have it included in your Qwest bundle. If you prefer to have something billed separately, you have that option as well. In that event, you will be billed by Verizon directly.
