The challenge was thus: a lack of visual feedback when browsing web pages and the issue of selecting the wrong link. The answer: Fingertouch, a technology “designed to make interacting with the Web easier and simpler on these touch-based devices.”

More people are viewing web content via a mobile device everyday. Challenges exist for vendors, manufactures, developers and users due to screen size, limited controls and time. Many mobile devices are evolving to this trend with the development of technology like touchscreens. Issues seen here is the majority of touchscreen users, use their fingers rather than a stylus, creating yet another hurdle. Fixing this dilemma of fingers bigger than buttons and mobile screens smaller than web pages is Fingertouch.
Fingertouch comes to us from Opera Labs. They have met the challenge to eliminate the issue of mis-sized or crowded screens by simply zooming in on the area of the page or form currently being viewed or in focus. By increasing the options, the this action reduces the chances of the user pressing the wrong button, link or option. Once the selection is made, the process complete with a smooth “fly out” animation indicating success. check out the BETA version available for Symbian UiQ.
