Rogers, Canada’s wireless network will be getting the BlackBerry Pearl 8220 in Q3. If this sounds familiar to you, it should. The BlackBerry Pearl is actually the Kickstart. And no, this isn’t just a naming ploy put out by Rogers. It will also be called the “Pearl” on T-Mobile.

It’s hard to say if this phone will replace the current Pearl line or act as an addition to it. But what is for sure is that in September, you’ll be able to get your hands on it from Rogers at or around $49.99.
This flip phone will include the voice-over Wi-Fi service, Talkspot. This is all interesting enough, but I can’t help but wonder if this renaming will cause more consumer confusion than interest.
