YouTube has officially released a native S60 client application! The app will be compatible with most S60 3rd Edition phones.

Appearing to have been optimised for QVGA screen resolution, the video quality is quite good. As for your normal YouTube viewing, users have basic search options, browsing, top rated, most viewed, recent, video descriptions etc as well as screening videos in full screen mode. Depending on the orientation of the video (i.e. widescreen) some may be viewed in ‘letter-box’ format.
Accessing the videos starts with the presentation in landscape orientation. YouTube controls can be managed through any key with all normal operations (volume, play / pause). The application (at this point) is restricted to Australia, Ireland, New Zealand, the United Kingdom and the United States. Downloading the app is available now from YouTube.
