Sakhr offers Arabic translator for Blackberry

The language barrier can be a difficult thing to overcome for people who spend lots of time in the field in foreign countries. Medical relief workers and other business people need to be able to communicate effectively to remain productive in foreign locals.

A company called Sakhr Software has announced a new translator application for the Blackberry that lets English and Arabic speakers communicate in real-time using the Blackberry smartphone. The app allows the user to speak the sentences in either language, view the translation, or play it aloud.

To use the app the user simply speaks the English or Arabic sentences into the smartphone. The translation is displayed on the window and the user can hear the translation played aloud. The app is available now and the company counts the DoD among its customers.
