Samsung claims to be a leader in the development of AMOLED-display, a new technology allows you to make superthin screens with minimal energy consumption. The Korean company already introduced AMOLED (active matrix organic light-emitting diodes)-display powered phones including Samsung S8300 UltraTouch, I8910 HD, Beat DJ and S9402 EGO.

…thanks to the flexible substrate used in the production process, they are significantly better tolerated mechanical effects than traditional screens based on LCD technology, thereby increasing the overall reliability of devices based on them. These characteristics make AMOLED ideal solution for mobile phones.
According to Woo Jong Lee, vice president of marketing unit Samsung Mobile Display, mobile phones with AMOLED-touch screens will go mainstream before the end of 2009. “In the future, such displays are used in the top models of notebooks,” said Mr. Lee.
