Everyone is going green today from grandma recycling plastic bottles and newspaper to electronics makers selling products made from recycled materials. Every little bit helps to keep some waste out of our landfills.

Samsung and Sprint have announced that the Reclaim is now available. The device is the cheapest QWERTY phone selling for $49.99 with a 2-year contract. The handset is also the first mobile phone in the U.S. to be made from eco-friendly bio-plastic.

The phone is 80% recyclable according to Samsung and the packaging used for the box the device ships in uses 30% less material to boot. The phone is a slider and features a 2-megapixel camera with video recording, Bluetooth, and supports Sprint Navigation. The handset can be had in earth green or ocean blue colors. Each unit sold will also result in a $2 donation to The Nature Conservancy program. The $49.99 sales price is after a $30 instant rebate and a $50 mail-in rebate.
