Samsung has delayed the release of its first Android phone until the second half of this year, Guardian reported. There will be no “made in Korea” Android phone at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona next week.

It’s the second delay of the Android phone this year, following the Australia-based Kogan Agora smart-phone that has been delayed due to “potential future interoperability issues.”
According to Younghee Lee, head of marketing at Samsung’s mobile device division, they are “planning internally” for a release in the second half of the year. The company is also in negotiations with a number of operators about taking a Samsung-designed Android phone.
“Is it me, or is the Android OS losing a lot of its hype?” asked metasage, a member of Android Community. I think so.
