Samsung has not done too well when it comes to luxury mobile phones. Their partnership with Bang & Olufsen did not exactly go to well either. In fact Bang and Olufsen announced that they are going to pull out of the handset business altogether.

Now Samsung has decided to try their hand at it again, this time with the fittingly named Ego S9402. For some reason Samsung has decided to go with a more traditional candybar style handset this time. As to be expected they will be using higher quality materials including “liquidmetal” composite alloy, which is “3 times stronger, can withstand 1.8 times the pressure, is 1.6 time more flexible, has 3 times better vibration absorption and 100% lower thermal conductivity then titanium“.

For being a luxury handset we certainly expected the Ego S9402 to be quad-band rather than tri-band. This handset allows for 2 SIM cards, tri-band GSM (900/1800/1900 Mhz), GPRS/EDGE connectivity on 1st and dual-band (900/1800 Mhz), GPRS/EDGE connectivity on 2nd.  It seems a little odd to us that this phone has a 5-megapixle camera, but only a 2-inch screen and 1GB of internal memory. The Ego S9402 is expected to sell for 1200 EUR.
