The long awaited Samsung Glyde for Verizon is finally getting official today. We have known about this thing for so long, and the fact that we are finally seeing it is very exciting. The device was rumored to launch on May 9th, but you are not going to see me complaining about an early launch of such a sweet phone.

The device is based off of the F700 that folks across the pond are currently enjoying. It has a number of features that make it a winner, including a QWERTY keyboard, touch screen, EV-DO, GPS, a 2 megapixel camera with LED flash, MicroSD expansion, and a full browser. From the image it is clear the device supports VCAST as well, it does not however support VCAST TV.

The launch is most likely limited to online availability as of now. You can expect it to be showing up this week, on Friday more precisely,  if the rumor holds true. The device will cost $250 on a new two year contract, after a $50 mail in rebate.
