Verizon subscribers rejoice. The long awaited Samsung Gyde, or U940, is rumored to be launching on May 9th. There has been so much talk about this device, and so many leaked pictures, specifications, press photos and rumors, it is about time it got ready to launch. While the rumor is not rock solid, it is from a ‘trusted source’ according to Engadget Mobile.

The Samsung Glyde is definitely something to get excited about. It is based on the very hot Samsung F700 that currently is gracing Vodafone. It brings a fair number of features to the table: gems such as a 2 megapixel camera, a full QWERTY keyboard (that is laid out very well if I may say so), and a touch screen. The device is gifted in the looks department, and the user interface is rooted from the beautiful, award winning Croix interface, developed by Samsung themselves.

It will be available on Verizon May 9th if the rumor holds true. There has been no leaked prices that are even remotely solid. Most are speculation and not worth mentioning. It is a safe bet to be expecting a somewhat high price for this beauty. Something to get excited over on a quiet Wednesday morning!
