The Samsung Highlight was dropped at our doors earlier this morning so we haven’t had a lot of time with it yet – so look for a a full review in a few days. That being said, from what we’ve experienced so far, the 3-inch, 240 x 400pixels, 262k TFT display is bright and touch-display is responsive (even though it’s still a resistive in nature). The Samsung Highlight is immediately available from T-Mobile for $149.99 with a 2-year contract and qualifying plan (price does include a $50 mail-in-rebate). It comes in either fire (red and orange) or ice (which is the version we got in to review).

The Highlight features a full touch-screen display, Web browsing over T-Mobile’s 3G network, and numerous multimedia features including a 3-megapixel camera with video capture, music player and a microSD slot for up to 16 GB of removable memory.

According to T-Mobile, web2go is the richest web experience to date (hmm), the Highlight offer web access with a personalized home page for easy one-click access to favorite Web sites, fast search results with Yahoo OneSearch, access to live news feeds with the web2go widget, and access to a number of T-Mobile downloads including the latest ringtones, games, wallpapers and applications.

It’s definitely lightweight and fits nicely in the palm of your hand and has neat features to offer to consumers. I’m just really concerned about the price of $150 after a $50 MIR for an entry-level touch-screen phone. For now, I’m going to hold my judgments or at least compare it to other phones in the same category/price range. Make sure to check back in a few days for a full review.
