The Samsung Highnote from Sprint was announced, illustrating a device made for music and those that like listening. This dual-sliding handset features a standard numeric keypad and a pair of stereo speakers depending on which way you slide the phone.

With the same One Click GUI as on the LG Lotus, this phone interestingly stylish. And though the 2 megapixel camera with video is nothing to write home about, there’s also speaker-independent voice recognition. But who needs a bunch of extra bells and whistles when your focus is music?

The goal here is great sound quality, and for a phone, this device delivers. It features stereo A2DP Bluetooth support and up to 16GB memory on microSD card. Even though sound quality from the speakers wasn’t fantastic, it was as good as could be expected from such a device. You can get the Samsung Highnote on Sprint in either red or blue on October 19th for $99.99 with a two-year contract and a $50 mail-in rebate.
