Vodafone UK have begun selling Samsung’s SGH-i640 slider smartphone, despite the fact that the handset is yet to appear on Samsung’s own site (showing up in searches, the i640 page redirects to the full model list). Priced from free with a new 18-month contract, the Windows Mobile 6 phone is triband (900/1800/1900) with 3G and a 2-megapixel camera with some sort of expandable memory (likely microSD).

It’s predecessor, the i620, had a 320 x 240 display similar to that of the BlackJack, and it’s likely that Samsung will continue to use that panel. Battery life is quoted at 6hrs talktime or 380hrs standby.
