The name still might be questionable, but the Samsung M8800, or the Bresson, or the Pixon was announced today without much fanfare. This is to be the second 8-megapixel offering from Samsung coming after the i8510 INNOV8.

While not a smartphone, the M8800 does possess a 3.2-inch touchscreen display which is sure to turn some heads. There are widgets added this time around on top of the standard TouchWiz interface.

One of the biggest drawbacks, however, is the lack of WiFi. Even so, you can expect to see this one sometime around November 10 for about $800. Check out the specs below:

  • Quad-band GSM, tri-band HSDPA
  • 107.9×54.6×14.9mm, 110 g
  • 3.2-inch touch screen display (240 x 400 pixels)
  • 8 megapixel camera, auto focus, face recognition with smile detection and blink detection, WDR (wide dynamic range), ASR (advanced shake reduction), GPS geotagging, ISO 1600, WVGA (720×480 pixels) and VGA (640 x 480 pixels) @30fps video recording
  • Built-in GPS receiver
  • Accelerometer
  • DivX playback
  • FM radio with RDS
  • microSD card slot
  • Bluetooth
  • Landscape virtual QWERTY keyboard
  • Handwriting recognition
  • ShoZu integration – direct image and video upload
  • Office document viewer
