Samsung have released an update for their Omnia i900 Windows Mobile 6.1 smartphone, taking the firmware version to i900DXHG4. Currently only available for Singaporean versions of the touchscreen handset, the update reportedly improves the overall speed of the Omnia, introduces some changes to icons and screen orientation settings, and adds business card scanning functionality.

The update download itself comes in at a not-inconsiderable 147MB, and requires both the latest version of ActiveSync (4.5) and Samsung’s own modem drivers. All are available from the above link; however, Samsung recommends you do not update if your phone is not listed – that basically means only users in Singapore will currently benefit.

i downloaded the software up date and the activesync and i followed the instructions and my phone turned off and the program said to turn on the phone manualy and i tried but nothing happened i though that the battery was gone but it wont charge and is completely dead can any one help?? the phone is from singapore so the software should work
