Perhaps I’m missing something, but Samsung’s new Korean “Secret Color Phone” models – the SCH-W360 and SPH-W3600 – are about as far away from secretive as you’d expect from a device with a choice of bright pink, red, blue or green keypads. I suppose the fact that the relatively sedate top sections slide down to cover the keys might be the justification, but it seems odd to concentrate on the colours when there are far more interesting features on offer: up to 7.2Mbps internet connections and the ability to maintain two simultaneous Bluetooth links.

Apparently the dual-Bluetooth is to allow media sharing with friends, but I can’t really think of a situation where I might need that happening with two other people at the same time. Still, the presumably HSDPA is a nice addition, as is the vibrating touchpad.
Samsung are obviously aiming at the female market, since they’ve bundled the colourful sliders with “benefit” makeup products. The clamshell version in the above photo, the SPH-4150, is set to launch next month, and according to AVING only 600 units are available priced at between 500,000 and 600,000 South Korean won ($525-630).
