Samsung SWT-W100K WiBro communicator

YesNo

Samsung have been demonstrating their SWT-W100K WiBro PMP recently and, while there’s still no release date for the mobile internet device, it’s at least been given a rough price-tag.  €341 ($525) gets you a 4.3-inch WVGA touchscreen, DMB and DMB Picture-in-Picture digital TV, GPS, a 2-megapixel autofocus camera and WiBro cellular broadband for up to 13Mbps connections (if you can find a network, which basically means you’ll be in Korea).

The SWT-W100K also has Bluetooth 2.0, 8GB of onboard memory, a MS Word document viewer, VoIP client (and front-facing VGA camera for video chatting) and a USB 2.0 port (with USB Host supported).  Media playback includes MP4, XviD, WMV, and H.26 video files, and the whole thing is 15.7mm thick.

There’s still no release date announced, but Samsung could certainly win a few customers (and Sprint gather some kudos) by switching out the WiBro chip for a WiMAX one in there and releasing it in the US.  Here’s hoping!
