The app store is a massive money maker for Apple and with its raging success; just about every phone maker is getting in on the app store action. Samsung has unveiled its plans to offer an application store for its handsets starting in Europe.

Samsung will launch the app store in the UK, France, and Italy to start with. The store will eventually be offered in 30 countries including Germany and Spain. Initially there will be at least 300 apps available on the store.
Samsung expects that number to grow to 2,000 by the end of 2009. Apps are very popular with smartphone and feature phone users, Nokia, and LG both have announced their own app stores this year already.
