Sprint may really have something with the Sanyo Katana Eclipse. This nifty little phone will be added to Sprint’s current product line up as a music-oriented cell phone now that it’s been passed through the FCC. Sporting a cool clam shell shape, the Katana Eclipse will be packing several noteworthy features including:

  • 2 megapixel camera.
  • microSD card slot.
  • Dedicated music playback keys on the outside of the phone, meaning you can play, pause, and skip without flipping open the phone.
  • 3.5mm audio port.
  • EV-DO network support.
  • Sprint Navigation with GPS
  • Sprint TV support

Sounds pretty cool, if you ask me. But the real proof will be once the product is out and in the hands of consumers. That’s when we can decide whether the Eclipse is really all it’s cracked up to be or just a bunch of bells and whistles.
