MySpace has announced that it is busy working on a next-generation mobile application compatible with Windows Mobile 6.1 and 6.5. The aim is for it to be available by Summer.

The application will offer a new and richer mobile experience for MySpace users. Aiming to be more intuitive for users of Windows Mobile to interact with, the application brings MySpace’s main social functionality and features together within the Windows operating system.

The feat would be accomplished by tying together the strengths of the Windows Mobile platform, Silverlight and Microsoft Mobile Internet Explorer 6. Through this, developers will also be able to create richer applications for the expanded service. The collaboration too may help push MySpace along with social networking competition.
