It is not really a surprise that anyone finding it hard over the last few months may consider moving on in a relationship. This is now going beyond a need for ‘my own space’ to one of extreme financial loss for Sony Ericsson.

German reports suggest that Ericsson is looking to sell back their share of Sony from Sony Ericsson. Even after cutting 8,000 jobs and closing 10% of factories, losses over the 2008 fiscal year were in the billions. After the slump it is thought that Sony will not have enough money to buy out Ericsson.

The Swedish telecommunications group Ericsson is planning to withdraw from the ‘common’ mobile phone business with partner Sony to take over. There have been rumors about in-fighting between the companies over the PSP phone. This going further to refusals over licensing agreements for the model. Officially, Ericsson has not made any comment and concrete knowledge of the direction of the group is uncertain.
