This slick touchscreen device was previewed back at Mobile World Congress, but is just now getting the official announcement. The Satio is a touchscreen phone with a 12.1 MP camera and Xenon flash built in. The device supports GSM/GPRS/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900 and UMTS/HSPA 900/2100 networks, and has a very large 3.5″ TFT display.

The device supports microSD expansion instead of memory stick which is surprising coming from a Sony device, though since it’s a Sony Ericsson, I guess that changes things. That 12.1 MP camera is supposed to be high quality, taking some great pictures really fast, and the Xenon flash promises to be a good performer as well.

The Satio will run the S60 5th edition Symbian OS, and is slated to launch in October of this year! There are many applications already out for the OS, so the Satio can presumably download and work with them all. The Satio comes in Black, Silver and Bordeaux.
