Sony Ericsson logoLatest pre-Mobile World Congress news is that Sony Ericsson are planning to demonstrate two new touchscreen smartphones, known internally as the Compact Touch Series but with provisional model names the G900i “Tyra” and G700i “Josephine”.  According to SEworld, the G900i will have a 5-megapixel camera, WiFi and an estimated 2.6-inch display, while the G700i will lose the WiFi and make so with a 3-megapixel camera.

Little else about either form-factor or functionality is known, although the OS is believed to be UIQ 3.2 and the two have conventional numeric keypads, but presumably the devices would fit below the dedicated “P” smartphone range.
