The Sony Ericsson w890i arrived a few days back and this is our first opportunity to give it a proper unboxing ceremony. Meet Bree Pearson, the newest member of Phone Magazine (Aradius Media Network) – here to walk you through the w890i. I know she should be writing this up, but she’s rather preoccupied with the w890i right now so you’re stuck with me.

The Sony Ericsson w890i a Walkman-branded phone – it’s super-slim featuring 3.2 megapixel camera, Walkman Player 3.0, Sony’s neat user interface all wrapped up in a candy bar form factor. If you’re looking for a smartphone, the w890i isn’t for you. However, if you’re a huge fan of Sony Ericsson phones, then the w890i might be a good option or if you’ve got an old w880i and need to replace it.

It’s got a front-side camera for video conferencing, TrackID, full media playback, and other music-related applications. There’s also a neato feature called SenseMe music mood mapper that was absent from the w880i. Another reason you might want to upgrade to the w890i is the 3.2-megapixel camera over the 2.0 on the w880i.

That’s all for now, until Bree finishes mucking around with the w890i and get to work ?.
