Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 approved by FCC

We’ve been talking about the Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 quite a bit here on PhoneMag in the past several weeks. It’s highly anticipated. However, the device has just now made its way through the FCC.
 

But hold your horses, folks. You might not be able to get your hands on this phone just yet. It will be released in Europe, however, though it is currently lacking 3G support. This has been a serious area of contention about the device.

We may very well see a U.S. version of the Xperia X1 shortly. An FCC approval is certainly a good sign that this will happen. At this point in time, we’re just waiting for carrier announcements.
