Sony announced their upgrade to the Mylo WiFi communicator, the imaginatively named Mylo 2, at CES 2008, and sales of the compact and QWERTY-equipped messaging device have begun today. Available at the SonyStyle online store, the Mylo 2 connects via WiFi b/g and has a 3.5-inch WVGA 800 x 480 touchscreen and 1GB of internal memory; the Access NetFront browser is pre-installed, as is a multi-IM client supporting Yahoo!, Google Talk, Skype IM and AIM, and the Skype VoIP software.

Priced at $299, first shipping is expected on the 28th of January, and will include the Mylo 2 unit itself, a wired remote with inline microphone and Skype “answer” button, headphones, stylus, strap and carrying pouch, as well as the expected AC adaptor, CD of accompanying software and USB cable.
