For those of you who are hoping to get the Sony Xperia X1a this year you may be disappointed. There are many strong indications that this handset will not be hitting the US till early next year. For one Sony Style is even showing the estimated shipping date as January 12, 2009.

Best Buy has changed their listing from “pre-Order” to “Coming Soon.” Those who have pre-ordered the handset for $799.99 are reporting that they are receiving emails about stock delays. While we are still unsure as to who or what is causing all this delay, we would hate to have to wait for such a phone, especially if we paid that amount of money for it. We will keep you posted on the situation as soon as more information becomes available.
