A man by the name of David Jones decided that the FAA regulations that prohibit any use of mobile phones except when the aircraft is on the ground just didn’t apply to him.  When asked to turn of his cellphone he told flight attendants to “Kiss my a$$.”  Then when asked again, he stated, “Kiss my a$$.  Not happening,” according to a Dallas police report.

When I first read the summary of this tip that came through our tipline, I thought surely this had to be a joke.  Then when I saw that it was a legitimate article on Dallas News, I kept wondering how in the world did this cell phone maintain reception while in flight?  Mind you, I’m on an airplane many times a month and the last time I checked, there is NO reception during flight (except when the airplane is on an approach for landing.)  The report states that this guy remained on the phone for about 20 minutes!

The flight staff washed their hands of this passenger and the pilot radioed the incident to the Love Field tower and Dallas police met this very, very, very bad person at the gate.  He may be fine for the incident which is a given, but what I wasn’t aware of was that the airline can be fined up to $25,000 if they allow passengers to use their phone during a flight.

What a rude idiot. I hope they throw the book at him. We just got back from Tokyo and spent a week in Japan. We noticed that they just don’t have those rude people that talk talk talk loudly around everybody. On the train if they use the phone, they go to the ends of the cars so everybody doesn’t have to hear. On the plane from Houston a lady was jawwing after they told everybody to turn off equipment, she continued on while they were doing the flight instructions, then finally the attendant tapped her on the shoulder while everybody was staring at her. Finally she hung up. Get a clue, dude!

Two sides to the story. Before passing judgment you might want to do your research. But then again, like the liberal media… you dont care what actually happened.
