The tag line for the invitation reads, “Witness the next wave of HTC Innovation.” The event takes place in London, UK at 11:30am, Tuesday May 6th. I’ve got a spot reserved and will be live casting the event.
It’s hard to say what HTC is unveiling. With Apple’s Worldwide Developers convention just a month away, I’d venture to guess that HTC would introduce their first Android phone – the Dream. This is actually the perfect time frame since HTC committed to a release date of mid-2008 release or at least an announcement of a device sporting Android.
The HTC Dream is speculated to include many of the iPhone features, such as the full touch screen interface and keyboard. It should measure 5-inch long and 3-inch wide. The picture below was shown on BBC video, and has been undergoing tests at Google. Right now, this device is the closest thing we have to what the Dream phone looks like.

HTC sucks!

God I hope this isn’t the HTC Dream. If I want an all-screen-no-physical-keyboard phone I’ll just get the new iphone.
Didn’t they say the “Dream” will have a swivel/slide out QWERTY keypad?? That was the real deal breaker.

I can definitely do WITHOUT a physical keyboard as long as the virtual keyboard is similar to the iPhone/with accelerometers built-in to know which way is up.

It will more likely be the HTC Diamond and HTC Raphael. The Diamond, also the T-Mobile MDA Compact IV, will be a follow-up to the HTC Touch (think even sleeker, with a VGA screen and 3G) and the Raphael will be a successor to the HTC Kaiser/ T-Mobile MDA Vario III/ AT&T Tilt, also with a VGA screen. Both should have further software enhancements like TouchFlo 3D.

#$%@#$% HTC!
Until they fix the driver issue on the Tytn II, Touch, etc. they won’t get any more money from me and I will certainly not recommend any HTC phones.
They promise the moon and deliver pure sh!t.

hope it doesnt cost much since there’s not much enhancements between the raphael and kaiser

I’ve been told that it’s a Windows 6.1 smartphone launching on the 6th May. Reliable source.

Someone provide a video for me to witness this on my TyTN II? Oh wait, that’s right, no video drivers…
No witnessing of HTC glory here!
April 11th, 2008 at 5:44 am
But will it feature drivers? HTC hasn’t exactly delivered their phones with drivers in the past…
April 12th, 2008 at 1:33 pm
Nobody should be fooled into buying this. Especially if they owned a TYTN II or an ATT Tilt.
They screwed us on the video drivers, and they’ll likely screw us again. No sympathy, no care.
My next phone will be an iPhone.

after owning several HTC models (s100, & P3300), happy with them, I now I own a TytnII aka HTC Kaiser aka “ATT Tilt”.
The result is I will never buy from HTC.
The most expensive HTC device performs worse than my previous phones!
Kaiser was misadvertised, and not properly supported.
