Sprint adds developer support for Android to its dev website

Sprint recently announced that it was getting its first Android powered smartphone called the HTC Hero. Today Sprint announced that it has added developer support for the Hero and other future Android devices to its Developer Support Website.

Among the support added for Android on the website is implementation information for Sprint Android devices along with Sprint network and protocol services. The network and Protocol services include location-bases services, messaging, Geofence, and more through the developer sandbox.

Sprint also announced that on October 26 it would give a free HTC Hero and one month of service to the first 400 developers who attend the HTC coding lab. Devs will need a laptop with Android Dev environment 1.5 installed for the hands on session.
