Sprint and Google are teaming up to bring a “richer experience” to mobile phones. This deal would bring all kinds of Google services to Sprint handsets. The press release states will bring “easy access” to Google Mobile Search, Google Maps, YouTube and more. Though these services are generally already available to many devices, the partnership will make it easier to access these services.

“We both believe in openness and providing compelling, easy-to-use mobile services that consumers can use every day. We look forward to working together to deliver a great experience.” -Doug Garland, vice president of product management, Google

As you can see they took the time to talk about how both advocate for open standards in the mobile industry. There was no time frame given for when benefits from the partnership would be seen. With a press release though, you have to believe it will not be too long.
