Sprint’s upcoming QChat service is definitely something to get excited about, as it will finally enable seamless push to talk between Nextel and Sprint subscribers. So it only figures that Sprint announcing 40 new markets for the service, and four new phones, is some big news. QChat will have comparable latency to iDEN, which makes it the perfect technology to phase out the aging iDEN network.

Sprint has also announced four new phones for the network. The new devices include the LX400 by LG, Z400 by Samsung, and PRO-200 and PRO-700 by Sanyo. The new devices are all expected to be launched on June 15th, which will also be the expected announcement of the QChat service. The service will be used by many for work projects, just as the Nextel service is used for.
“Instant connections help customers get things done more efficiently, and these new phones allow us to continue to deliver on the gold standard of instant push-to-talk connectivity on the Now Network,” -Kevin Packingham, senior vice president of product and technology development for Sprint
