The Windows Mobile 6.1 train is rolling steadily by now, and it is a good thing too. With all the new features that are loaded in the new OS, and Sprint’s promise to load Windows Mobile 6.1 on all its Windows Mobile 6 devices, it is about time that they get going on it. That is just what they have done too, with the announcement that Motorola is officially providing the upgrade.

There are a number of aesthetic and performance enhancements in Windows Mobile 6.1. Though in reality it is a relatively small upgrade from Windows Mobile 6, it is not a useless upgrade by any means. There is a new interface to some degree, not to mention added support for copy and paste. It is hoped that the buggy GPS driver in the Q9c gets updated, to make things a little more smooth.
You can get the update for the Q9c now from Motorola’s site. If you do take the upgrade let us know how it goes. As always, remember to back up your data before you go and update. Here is to hoping that the update is more reliable than some of the other Windows Mobile 6.1 upgrade nightmares.
