Sprint have announced their latest entry-level Samsung, the M240, a compact clamshell aimed at basic voice call use. The M240 has a speakerphone, threaded SMS messages and T9, together with a calendar and 500-entry phonebook.

When the phone spec sheet lists “store as many as ten voice memos” you know you’re looking at a basic device, but there’s still a web browser and calendar. You also get an external Caller ID display and wireless backup, stuffed into a casing measuring 3.6 x 1.85 x 0.74 inches.
As for the battery, that’s rated for up to 6.5hrs talktime. The Samsung M240 is available from Sprint now, priced at $19.99 with a new two-year contract and after $150 instant savings.
