One of the most anticipated Android phones in a long time is the HTC Hero. The device will be making its way to many of the major cellular networks around America. Sprint announced that it too would be getting the Hero on its network starting on October 11.

The device will be offered on that date through all retail channels including Best Buy for $179.99 after a $50 instant savings and a $100 mail-in rebate. Sprint is allowing customers to pre-register for the Hero online right now.
In case you live under a rock, the Hero is an Android phone that has built-in Google apps like Search Maps, Gmail, and YouTube. There is also an app store that users can download games and other software from. The Hero will work on the Sprint 3G network.
