There is quite a bit of hype surrounding the launch of Sprint’s QChat service. Sprint has been talking about QChat for some time now, and several QChat phones have been seen lately for Sprint’s upcoming service. The service is set to launch on June 15th, according to one source. QChat is going to be Sprint’s next generation of Sprint’s Push To Talk service.

This date is a slight delay of what was supposed to be the launch date. This is not good news for Sprint, as Verizon is rolling out their QChat service sometime near the end of May. Sprint has made no announcement of when QChat will be available from them, and may not for some time. What is known, is the release date for several of their QChat enabled phones have been pushed to June 15th. This suggests that it is possible the launch of the phones will be at the same time as the launch of the service.
The cause for the delay is not known. There are several possible explanations. Things that could be delaying the launch of QChat include problems Sprint is encountering, or the lack of phones. Sprint could be just waiting a little longer for some more QChat phones to be added to their line up for the launch of the QChat service.
