One of the things my wife wanted to do right away when she got her new Blackberry was to download some games for the phone. The problem we found was that you had to use PayPal, which we don’t use. That meant that we didn’t buy anything from the App World.

According to a new user evaluation from Strategy Analytics, the Blackberry App world works well and has an intuitive interface. The study also says that the structure of the site made it easy to find apps from brands the user is familiar with.
Problems cited by the study include the fact that there is no way to show only free apps. The biggest issue the study found though is the one I ran into — payment options are too limited. The App World needs to have a method to either charge apps to your mobile bill or pay with a credit card.
