Most of us might be more excited about the upcoming dual-boot HTC Shift, but T-Mobile would like us to remember that its younger sibling, the MDA Ameo, is still around and still making mobile warriors smile.  Well, they’ll have even more to smile about now, as the smartphone-cum-tablet has had an upgrade, with storage doubled to 16GB, the removable keyboard having had some “rearrangements” and the OS upgraded to Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional.

It should be available in Germany come April 2008, priced at €459.95 ($676) with a new, 24-month contract.  Availability elsewhere is as yet uncertain, though considering the Ameo is currently sold by T-Mobile in a variety of countries it’s reasonable to assume that they too will get the upgrade.
