T-Mobile plans to push out some Android powered phones by the end of the year. This news comes from the VP and General Manager of T-Mobile’s Broadband and News Business Division, so it has some strong substance. The devices that would be launched were not specified, one device could be the HTC Dream, which has already gotten it’s fair share of news coverage.

T-Mobile was at first a skeptic of the Android platform. After a view of what the device can do, and all the features it brings, they have apparently changed their tune. T-Mobile has not only embraced the platform, but is expected to be the first carrier with an Android based device out the door. One reason T-Mobile is looking forward to Android, is to reduce the time it takes to get a feature from the drawing board to it’s customers.

There are going to be at least a few Android based handsets coming to the market soon. T-Mobile is going to be getting an Android powered handset, but they may not be the only one. Qualcomm, who provides chips for the phones, has said there will be five more in the next 18 months.
