Latest rumor is that T-Mobile USA will celebrate the upcoming launch of their 3G network with a US-spec version of the kick-sliding Motorola Z10, which so impressed Vincent back at CES 2008 (and which you can see our exclusive video of here), that will newly support the 1700MHz band required. According to a poster at Howard Forums, the 3G Z10 is expected in Q2/Q3 this year, tallying roughly with the Summer timescale T-Mobile themselves have suggested for the updated UMTS network going live.

The Z10 is a UIQ powered media handset, with 3.2-megapixel autofocus camera with flash, 2.2-inch QVGA display capable of 30fps 16m colour video, and a microSD slot that will be compatible with 32GB cards (when they’re available). Motorola were particularly proud of the fact that the camera app loads and is ready for action in just 1.5 seconds.
Currently, 3G capable phones using T-Mobile’s network - such as the Samsung T819 - are only able to access data via EDGE.
