T-Mobile’s Wing WM6 smartphone has been described as hot stuff in reviews before now, but users should find a package in their mail soon that’s intended to ensure the HTC-made handset doesn’t get too hot. Apparently the Dynapack batteries supplied with some of the Wing handsets can - very rarely, T-Mobile assure us - overheat, likely causing damage to ears, handbags or whatever you have resting near your pants pockets.
“T-Mobile and HTC are providing a replacement for the T-Mobile Wing battery made by Dynapack at not charge to you due to rare occurrences of the battery overheating” T-Mobile statement
The replacement battery pack is made by Celxpert, and is functionally identical (though presumably without the slight fire risk). If you’ve got a Wing, it might be a good idea to pop off the battery cover and check what make of power pack you have in there; if it’s Dynapack, give T-Mobile a call and they should be able to advise whether you need a replacement or not.
