Samsung has delayed the release of its first Android phone until the second half of this year, Guardian reported. There will be no "made in Korea" Android phone at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona next week.

Skype users can save money and stay connected with friends and family over Skype while on the go with their Android-powered devices (which today include the T-Mobile G1 and expected to also work on other future Android devices) as well as more than 100 other Java-enabled mobile phones from LG, Motorola, Nokia, Samsung and Sony Ericsson.

HTC's confirmed to Engadget that the "cupcake" OS update should be available to the T-Mobile G1 some time (yeah, there is no exact date of the over-the-air update, though) in the future.

The deal between Nokia and Symbian finally closed and now Symbian Foundation is officially in charge of Symbian development. Currently there are ten participants in the Symbian Foundation with memberships open to anyone with $1,500.

T-Mobile officially announced their G1 smartphone this morning, the first handset to use Google's Android platform. The G1 is a dualband UMTS, quadband GSM slider with a full QWERTY keyboard, trackball and 3.2-inch 320 x 480 HVGA capacitive touchscreen for navigation; it also has GPS, WiFi, Bluetooth and a 3.2-megapixel fixed-focus camera.
